Refund & Subscription Policy

This policy covers billing, cancellations, and refunds for all Mapping with Melanin™ consumer and business memberships.

Consumer Plans

Business Plans

  • Monthly or annual billing
  • Cancel stops future billing
  • No prorated refunds on annual
  • Access through paid period

1. Consumer Memberships

Monthly plans renew automatically on the same date each month until canceled. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting [email protected]. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain full access until then. No prorated refunds are provided for unused time in a billing period unless required by applicable law. Founding Member (one-time payment): All sales are final. Founding Member access is lifetime and non-transferable. Refunds are not available except where required by law.

2. Business Memberships

Monthly billing: Renews automatically each month. Cancel at any time; access continues through the end of the current billing period. Annual billing: Billed once per year. Cancellation stops future billing. No prorated refunds are provided for the remaining months of an annual term unless required by applicable law. Your access remains active through the end of the paid annual period. Business accounts that are suspended for policy violations are not eligible for refunds.

3. Payment Failures

If a payment fails, we will attempt to retry the charge. You will receive an email notification. If payment is not resolved within 7 days, your account may be downgraded to the free tier. To update your payment method, visit your account settings or the billing portal. You can access the billing portal from your account dashboard at any time.

4. Refund Requests

Refunds are not provided for: • Unused time remaining in a billing period after cancellation. • Accounts suspended for policy violations. • Founding Member one-time payments. Refunds may be considered at our discretion for: • Duplicate charges caused by a technical error. • Charges made after a documented cancellation request that was not processed. • Situations where applicable consumer protection law requires a refund. To request a refund, email [email protected] within 30 days of the charge. Include your account email and a description of the issue. We will respond within 5 business days.

5. Plan Changes

Upgrading: When you upgrade your plan mid-cycle, you will be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing period at the new plan rate. Downgrading: When you downgrade, the change takes effect at the start of your next billing period. You retain access to your current plan's features until then.
